Higher High (HH)

Also called: HH

// Definition

A higher high is a new peak that is above the previous peak. A series of higher highs is a sign of an uptrend.

Explained simply

When buyers are strong, each rally pushes past the top of the last one. That new top is a higher high.

Together with higher lows, higher highs define an uptrend. If price fails to make a new higher high and turns down below the previous high, that is called a lower high and can be an early warning.

Tip

Confirm a higher high with a candle close above the previous high, not just a wick.
