Equal Highs and Equal Lows

Also called: Double top liquidity, Double bottom liquidity

// Definition

Equal highs or equal lows are two or more swing points at almost the same price, which attract a large cluster of stop-loss orders.

Explained simply

When price turns from the same level twice, many traders see it as strong support or resistance and place stops just beyond it. That makes equal highs and lows obvious liquidity targets.

Because of this, price often runs through equal highs or lows before reversing, sweeping the stops that sat beyond them.

Tip

Equal highs and lows that look "too perfect" are often a target rather than a wall.
