Support

Also called: Support level, Support zone

// Definition

Support is a price area where a falling market tends to stop and bounce, because buyers step in there.

Explained simply

Think of support as a floor. Each time price drops into that area, buying increases and pushes price back up.

Support forms where price has turned up before, because traders remember those levels and place buy orders around them. The more times a level holds, the more traders watch it.

Tip

Draw support as a zone, not a single thin line. Price rarely turns at exactly the same number twice.
